Nature Photography in New Hampshire

I will be returning "home" to New Hampshire in December. If anyone is interested in going to New England for anything, stop in New Hampshire for good nature photos. It's a fairly small state, and only 2 or 3 days is needed to see everything—maybe 2 days in the summer. The best time of year to see New Hampshire is mid-October for fall foliage.

The Kancamagus Highway between Lincoln and Conway offers panoramic views of the surrounding White Mountains.

The Androscoggin River is home to Common Loons and along the river, there is the potential for moose sightings.

Mount Washington and the Presidential Range with the Mount Washington Hotel in the foreground. Views of the peaks are a rarity, as the mountains create their own weather.

Top of the Table Rock Trail in Dixville Notch.

Looking over Franconia Notch from Cannon Mountain. The Notch is split by the Pemigewasset River, along which there are the Basin (year-round) and Flume Gorge (May to October) for good water shots.

Moose Alley is a section of US 3 beyond the Connecticut Lakes until the Canadian border that has a fair chance of moose sightings. Be careful of the narrow shoulder!
